Trusting God When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

There are seasons in life when everything feels uncertain. Plans fall apart, prayers seem unanswered, and the path ahead feels unclear. In those moments, trusting God can feel difficult—but it is often in these very seasons that our faith grows the most.

Trusting God does not mean we always understand what He is doing. In fact, many of the people we read about in Scripture had to walk through confusing and painful moments without seeing the full picture. Joseph was sold into slavery before he became a leader in Egypt. David spent years running for his life before he became king. Even in those difficult seasons, God was still working behind the scenes.

Sometimes we expect faith to remove struggles from our lives, but the Bible shows us something different. Faith doesn’t always remove the storm—it helps anchor us in the middle of it. When life feels overwhelming, we can remember that God’s plans are bigger than the moment we’re in.

One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is that God never wastes our struggles. The difficult moments we walk through can shape our character, deepen our faith, and prepare us for things we cannot yet see. What feels like a setback today may actually be part of God’s greater plan for tomorrow.

Trusting God often begins with small steps. It might look like choosing prayer when worry feels easier, opening Scripture when you feel discouraged, or simply reminding yourself that God is still faithful even when circumstances are hard.

If you’re in a difficult season right now, remember this: you are not walking through it alone. God sees you, He cares about your struggles, and He is still at work in your life—even when you cannot see it yet.

Sometimes the most powerful faith is simply choosing to trust God one day at a time.
