When the Storms Just Keep Coming

Have you ever felt like life has been one long storm lately? Like just when you start to see a little sunlight, another dark cloud rolls in? Maybe it’s a financial setback, an unexpected diagnosis, a strained relationship, or just the weight of exhaustion from carrying too much for too long. You pray, you trust, you try to hold on—but the waves keep crashing.

If that’s where you are today, you’re not alone.

Even the disciples—men who walked beside Jesus Himself—faced storms that made them fear for their lives. In Mark 4, when the winds howled and the waves beat against their boat, Jesus was asleep on a cushion. It’s easy to imagine how forgotten they must have felt. But when they cried out, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”—Jesus woke, spoke peace to the storm, and calmed it instantly.

Here’s the truth: the storm was never stronger than His word.

Sometimes God allows the storm not to break us, but to reveal who He truly is—to remind us that His presence is greater than our panic. When the waves roar, He is still the same God who said, “Peace, be still.”

Maybe the storm you’re in isn’t calming yet. Maybe you’re still waiting for that stillness to come. But even in the waiting, He’s at work. The enemy wants to convince you that the storm is endless and that God is silent—but storms have limits, and so does the enemy.

Isaiah 43:2 promises:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.”

You are not forgotten in this season. You are not failing because you feel weary. You are being refined, strengthened, and held. The winds may howl, but your foundation is faith—and faith doesn’t crumble when the rain falls; it anchors you deeper.

So, take a breath today. Whisper a prayer. Remind yourself that the same Jesus who calmed the storm for His disciples is still in control of yours.

Let this be your declaration:
Even when the storms keep coming, my God is still my peace.

Reflection Prayer:
“Lord, when the storms feel unending, help me to remember that You never leave me. Teach me to trust You in the waiting, to rest in Your promises, and to find peace in Your presence. Calm my anxious heart as You calm the sea. Amen.”

My God is still my peace is something we should say everyday. Say it to him in prayer, at the end of the day when our minds are troubled, Monday morning when the week is barring down on us. Because He truly is peace in every storm we could possibly face.

Thank you for sharing this, I need to hear it.
